Gabapentin and Baclofen drug interactions
Baclofen is a muscle relaxer and an anti-spastic agent. It is used to treat muscle symptoms caused by multiple sclerosis, spasm, pain and stiffness whereas gabapentin is an anticonvulsant and analgesic drug. It is primarily used to treat epilepsy, as it controls seizures by decreasing abnormal excitement in the mind. It is also used in pain caused by post herpetic neuralgia. Its mechanism of action has not been known until now. But it resembles to GABA (gamma amino butyric acid). Baclofen and gabapentin can be taken together; they may increase the side effect such as dizziness, drowsiness and difficulty in concentration. Some people may also feel impairment in judgement and thinking. It is important to consult your physician, if your side effect symptoms aggravate.
