Gabapentin and Cymbalta cannot be taken together. Drug interaction between these drugs comes under moderate to major. One should avoid taking this combination because the risk of the interaction outweighs the benefits. Combining these drugs may cause decreased breathing, brain or nervous system problem. When taken together, these drugs increase the chance of developing brain or nervous system side effects such as drowsiness, decreased nervous ability, or confusion. Avoid mental activities that require mental alertness such as driving or operating heavy machinery. The patient may be monitored for potentially excessive or prolonged CNS or respiratory depression.
