Gabapentin and Zoloft Drug Interactions
Cocaine dependence is a major problem public health problem with no available robustly effective pharmacotherapy. A study was performed to determine if treatment with Zoloft or gabapentin with Zoloft improved treatment retention, depressive symptoms, and or cocaine used. It was observed that zoloft, but not gabapentin plus zoloft showed a significantly lower overall percentage of cocaine positive urine samples as compared to placebo. A significantly greater percentage of participants experienced a relapse in the placebo group compared with group taken zoloft alone. Zoloft with gabapentin may not be better to zoloft alone in delaying relapse amongst cocaine dependent individuals undergoing CBT.
